On Wednesday 4^th January 2012 Richard lost his courageous battle with lung cancer aged just 47.

Did you know that you can get lung cancer even if you do not smoke?  Richard prided himself on having never ever smoked a cigarette, not even a puff and yet he still developed lung cancer. (However had Richard smoked his response to treatment and the disease would have been even worse, so do not assume that smoking is not hurting you!!)  In Australia Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in men and the top cause of cancer death. It is the fourth most common cancer in women and ranked second most common cause of cancer death. Isn’t it time that this killer cancer was stopped in its tracks. The only way this is going to happen is if a cure can be found or more effective treatment regimens developed. And the only way this is going to happen is if more money is put into researching for a cure for this type of cancer.
